The Holders of Hope Foundation was born from a simple but powerful belief: hope is contagious. When people witness courage, kindness, and leadership in action, they are inspired to rise higher, serve deeper, and believe again in what's possible.

Founded by Licensed Professional Counselor Esther De La Rosa Scott, the Foundation grew from years of community work, mental-health advocacy, and the powerful influence of former Arlington Mayor Jeff Williams and his citywide Kindness Initiative. Together, their shared mission sparked a movement dedicated to highlighting and honoring the stories of those whose actions quietly but powerfully uplift and make our community stronger.

The first Holders of Hope Awards began as a small gathering to honor leaders who quietly-yet profoundly-changed lives through service, compassion, and integrity. What started as a heartfelt recognition ceremony quickly evolved into a growing tradition that celebrates those who embody the very best of our community.

Each December, we shine a light on leaders in business, government, health, education, entertainment, and faith-people whose actions remind us that hope still lives among us, and that every individual has the power to make a difference. The ceremony has become a place where hearts are lifted, stories are shared, and guests leave inspired to do more and be more for others.

Today, the Holders of Hope Foundation continues to expand its reach, championing hope-filled leadership, partnering with local organizations, and empowering the next generation to believe that they too can become Holders of Hope.
